    Nuts and Bolts

    Nuts and Bolts

One more walk around my hotel and I see something I had not seen before. Missed it. Strange what each of us will see as we walk around with a camera. So many factors determine what we will find in our viewfinder. How rested we are. Are we present to the moment or lost in thought? Our health. Our spiritual state.

    Harbor Fish Market

    Harbor Fish Market

I miss some of the overnights we had on our east coast flying. Having an overnight in Portland, Maine with enough time to head down to the harbor and enjoy a bowl of fresh chowder or fresh lobster. Won’t find this in Wichita or Des Moines or Omaha.

    White Bucket

    The White Bucket

I haven’t been walking as much lately because I’m having trouble with the sciatic nerve in my left hip. This is due to the scoliosis I’ve had in my lower back for most of my life and is a sign its getting worse. The soreness and aching in my back has been something I’ve accepted but this pain my hip has bothered me enough to see a doctor.

The trip to doctor and x-rays shows the real condition: 40 degree curve in the lower lumbar and outward twist of my spine on my left side. I have deterioration in all five discs and bone spurs. After showing me the x-rays he told me the options I face. Unfortunately none of those options will fix my back but they can help me restore some health to my body. He then asked me what “I” wanted to do. I liked that! So, I start therapy and an education program. My work involves primarily standing and walking on a moving aircraft. We never just stand or walk as if we were on a sidewalk because of the constant movement of the aircraft. I have much more to do in this life and need my health to attain those dreams.

    End of Day

    Sunset on the Tarmac

As I normally do after finishing a trip I stepped out on the tarmac to catch the employee bus to my car. This evening I stood in awe and took the scene in. A smile formed as I enjoyed the last few rays and warmth of the setting sun. I really did not care if the was a bit late. As tired as I was I reached in bag and pulled out the G12 and took a few images. I did not care about the exposure as I knew I could not justify what I felt at that moment. It was just a nice way to end the day.

    Blue Eyes

    Mother and Son

I would like to take credit for this image but it is not my image. A few years ago my sisters and I gathered some images of family and created a group of images to give our parents for one of those digital picture frames. This was one of this images we used. I played with it and wanted to add it to last weeks images of children. Love those blue eyes.
