I seldom drink any sort of sodas. I have not really enjoyed them for several years. However, while I was working as a flight attendant I would sometimes take a sip just because it was there. I have not drank a full can for years. An article in Business Insider states, “carbonated soft drinks have declined in the US, from nearly 53 gallons per capita at its peak in 1998 to 41 gallons per capita in 2014.” In my google search I also found that the products of The Coca-Cola Company are consumed at the rate of more than 1.8 billion drinks per day. If those massive numbers are correct then someone is consuming my average.

Morning Bus Ride
This is a common scene in the morning as I head for the Transit Center on campus. Students sit in foggy states, staring off into space and earbuds plugged in. There are many reasons for this state. It may be way too early in the morning for them, or they may have stayed up way to late watching a movie, studying or it could be both. I know the feeling as some mornings my thinker is just not functioning yet. Anyway, I’m on campus with a breve mocha this morning and awake. Have a super awesome week!

Snowman
As I drove home Friday afternoon I noticed this new snowman in the front yard of a home along Mountain Avenue. Turned the car around so I could meet this fellow and see if he’d let me post an image of him on my blog. He had a Kool hat. I thought I heard him say yes. 🙂

More Snow
It is Friday morning about 7:30 am and sitting at a computer on campus at Morgan Library. Yes, I have a mocha in hand from Morgans Grind, the coffee shop located in the library. 🙂 A light snow is falling and has been, with mixed rain, since Thursday night. We have received about 2-3 inches of snow but with lots of moisture. Winter is still with us in Colorado.
As I walked from the bus stop to the library I noticed a student riding their bicycle in this 20 degree weather without gloves. How do they do that? Anyway, back to the weather. They are predicting lows for the next two nights somewhere from the single digits to mid teens. Time to make chili again and check on airfare to Phoenix. Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!

A Log and It’s Shadow in Color
Here is the same image as yesterday only in color and another quote.
“We have lived our lives by the assumption that what was good for us would be good for the world. We have been wrong. We must change our lives so that it will be possible to live by the contrary assumption, that what is good for the world will be good for us. And that requires that we make the effort to know the world and learn what is good for it.” Wendell Barry

A Log and It’s Shadow
Took a walk this past Sunday along the Red Fox Meadows nature trail. Mostly cloudy day but so enjoyable and much needed time in nature to clear the thinking. It also provides the exercise my body and spirit need. I find it fascinating when scenes appear that catch my attention and become an image for me. I feel like a child discovering something new. Processed this image with one of the presets in Silver EFEX Pro. Made a tone curve adjustment then posted it.
