    We Call It Fall

    Morning Frost
    Morning Frost

This is the time of year when temperatures swing from near freezing in the morning then rise by mid-afternoon to 75 and short sleeves. We scrap frost off windshields at 6:30 am then have doors open by noon. We call it fall.

    Glad I Didn’t Wait

Took this image over a week ago while on campus. The recent winds of last week have blown most of the leaves into eastern Colorado and western Kansas. Glad I didn’t wait.

    More Bluer Skies

Starburst on a beautiful fall afternoon.

This pat weekend was lovely. Afternoon temperatures reaching the mid 60’s and nighttime temperatures down to freezing. The cold nights and humidity brought frost to everything in the morning. Saturday morning included some fog where I could not see across the pond.

    Yes, Bluer is a Word

I love blue skies! So, after getting off the bus and walking to Morgan Library on Colorado State University campus I had to smile and point my camera to the northern skies. I find this time of the year to be a favorite. We begin to have cooler temperatures making for a better night of sleep and refreshing mornings. And, I think the blue skies are bluer! 🙂

    Snow Shovels

    Bright Colored Snow Shovels
    Bright Colored Snow Shovels

This past week they were giving away snow shovels on campus. No way were you going to misplace his shovel because they were bright orange shovels. I did not ask why but watched students carrying them around campus and on the buses. Anyway, it came at the best time as snow is predicted to arrive tonight and into tomorrow. So, in anticipation of the cold and snow I put on a crock pot of vegetable soup. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and praying you have a great week.

    I Write

    Lamy Logos
    Lamy Logos

“A pen transmits the voice of the soul.” Fennel Hudson

I now have two Lamy Logos. One is a pearl color and the other is twilight. I have a deep blue ink in the pearl Logo and a black/brown ink in the twilight Logo.

I enjoy going to coffee shops but it’s not just for coffee. These small shops are an extended family. A connection can be make with the baristas and many of the regulars. We get to know one another, the good things in life and the hard stuff we deal with. I come to watch people and to meet total strangers, who sometimes become friends. I come here to write in my journal about what I see, feel and what I dream. I sip on my mocha, a dark brew, a tea and every so often a chai. I write. I’m happy.
