Hanging On

Hanging On

Well, it’s about 3 weeks till Winter Solstice. Thankfully, we’ve only had a couple of light snowfalls this fall. Most of our trees are barren of their leaves, allowing the birds and squirrels nests to be are easily seen. The few leaves we do see on branches are those who refuse to give it up and hang on, or they are the ones caught among branches on their decent to the ground. I noticed this group of three leaves from a tree above, tangled in the branches of a bush. They were easily seen as I walked by since they were at eye level. So nature offered this simple image, who many would not see, and I accepted the image.

Morning Frost on Leaves

Morning Frost on Leaves

My sister and I are leaving for Phoenix today. Going to spend thanksgiving with our parents and our sister and favorite brother-in-law. Hopefully there will not be any frost down there. We should be coming back next weekend unless we somehow loose our return tickets. πŸ™‚

Do Not Overlook

Alan Watts says, “Normally, we do not so much look at things as overlook them.” I like to think my years looking through a viewfinder, being more aware, awake, enlightened or whatever you call it  has helped to not overlook as often.

Its Snowing

Bright and Colorful

Bright and Colorful

It is lightly snowing this morning with 2-4 inches accumulation. It has let up as I can see blue sky and sunlight trying to break through.  It is also cold, about 27 degrees and expected to dip into the teens tonight. Instead of posting an image of snow I decided to post an image I took yesterday morning on my campus walk. It is bright, colorful and shouts of fall colors rather than our world of white we have today. May you have a super Awesome day!

Where’s the grass?

Where's the grass?

Where’s the grass?

β€œThe resting place of the mind is the heart. The only thing the mind hears all day is clanging bells and noise and argument, and all it wants is quietude. The only place the mind will ever find peace is inside the silence of the heart. That’s where you need to go.” Elizabeth Gilbert

I took this image a week ago before all the winds swept everything clean. I suspect these leaves are somewhere in Kansas by now. Hope everyone has a good week!
