We have quite a few of them around here. They don’t just graze on grass but also enjoy munching on flowers and plants from the garden. They’re not as popular as they are cute. 🙂

LOL I totally understand that! There are no gardens or flowering plants around my condo so it’s a safe place for them. However, I do know the multiply rapidly (rabbitly). We had a heck of an electrical storm and rain last night. They say more possible this afternoon.

Awwww, so cute. I like to see them in the wild, not so much as pets. Why do humans think they have to make pets out of every creature. Sorry for the mini-rant. Awww, so cute. 😉

I feel the same with your rant. There are many people who keep pets that should not be classified as pets and/or are not qualified to be pet owners. I do see this little critters a lot out in the natural areas. A few years ago they had a disease wipe out a lot of the foxes in town which has allowed the cottontails to increase. Stay cool!

Memories. This darling, which you captured so beautifully, reminded me of the 3 orphan bunnies we raised on the farm until they were old enough to let go to be on their own. My Dad was working at a neighbor’s farm and accidently killed the little guys’ Mom. Soon after, he found the nest with the 3, now little orphans. Man do they like to chew…we were constantly having to come up with new cardboard boxes for their nest as they would chew holes in them. Fond memories. And, yes, many critters are not meant to be pets, but all, even those who eat the flowers and the spinach, are meant to be loved and respected for their place in our lovely and diverse Creation. That’s my soap box worth!

What a lovely story, Geri. Early in my life my father had dogs; a couple of birds dogs and then a litter of beagles. We didn’t keep them long because the care required. You have me thinking, maybe the pets in my life are the ones freely roaming in nature, greeting me in predawn twilight, or the squirrels racing around the cottonwood tree in my front yard. Hoping you have a wonderful week!

Yes, Monte, God does bless us every day with His free-roaming “pets” for all to enjoy. How lovely that you do pause to appreciate them, from the dragonfly to the bunny to the birds and beyond. I know it makes The Creator smile when we stop to embrace His handiwork. Blessings.

We have many patches of clover that we are leaving unmowed for them. We’ve spotted them sitting right in the middle, a very photogenic opportunity. But by the time I saw it and grabbed my camera, the rabbit left.
