    Playing the piano

    Playing the Piano
    Playing the Piano

There is a piano outside in the lobby of the Lory Student Center theater for people to play. It seems to me I almost always see and hear someone playing. I find it interesting to see these young people sit down and play. Some are dressed poorly, some carry a backpack of books and are using this time to relax between classes. And, the talent is wonderful. There were no words said between us as I just walked around him composing images. He sang one song and actually brought tears to my eyes. Thankful for autofocus.

P.S. And, the snow began falling around 2:00 pm, just as perdicted. They say 14 inches. Sigh!

    Coffee Break

    Coffee break on campus

Discovered this young lady on break outside the Behavioral Sciences building on campus. I shot this from my hip while walking. Not bad actually. Everything is still green out here but we sure are feeling the heat and noticing some leaves are changing colors.

I attended our first annual Loveland High School class of 1968 picnic yesterday. We had our 50th last fall so instead of having a big shindig every 5 or 10 years we will try to have these picnics on an annual basis.  I’ve been to all my class reunions and find it good to connect with classmates, catch up on our lives, eat, and play a few old folks games. I was one of the quiet ones in school due to my insecurity. The passing of time and a better knowledge of who I am has changed that. Also, when we take the time to talk to classmates we were not close too, we can find out how insecure they were also, the tragic lives some lived but few knew about. I highly recommend going to them.

    Don’t go there…

By “there” I’m referring to anywhere near the campus at Colorado State University as (about) 33,413 students have descended on campus in the past 24 hours. Parents are dropping off new freshman at the dorms so the streets are lined with cars and bright orange parking cones. CSU police and students are directing traffic. Simply said, it’s a mess!

    Matcha Latte

It’s not as cold this morning, only about -2 degrees at 7:30. We’re already up to 4 degrees at 9:30 and hopefully we will see 32 degrees. Found this couple just outside one of the coffee shops in the Lory Student Center. She seems to be studying a book and he’s on his phone.

I decided to switch today and have a matcha latte rather than a mocha latte. Matcha powder is loaded with heart-healthy antioxidants, made from chlorophyll-rich green tea leaves that are ground into a fine powder. To make the matcha latte is simple. They place the matcha powder in a cup then add steamed milk to create the frothy latte effect. It was a good choice.
