    Lost in the mist…

“Mystery surrounds every deep experience of the human heart: the deeper we go into the heart’s darkness or its light, the closer we get to the ultimate mystery of God.”

    Parker J Palmer

I see scenes like this quite often on my walk across the CSU Oval. The back lit light of the sprinklers always grabs my attention. So, I stopped for a couple of images. I find mystery in this image because it includes the cyclist, lost in the mist, riding on the sidewalk down the center of the oval as if they were within the spray. The wind continues to blow this morning, so my hair is a mess, but we have clear skies and sunshine. I am happy to see more and more green. The semester is over, finals are done and most students have headed home. Hope you have a wonderful day.

    The simplest…

The simplest spiritual discipline is some degree of solitude and silence. To be with our own thoughts and feelings is probably the most courageous act most of us will ever do.

Coffee at Mugs earlier this morning then had a wonderful phone call with a friend. Hopefully a quiet Saturday from here on as there is little on my to-do list. Tomorrow morning my youngest granddaughter, Abbie, gets married. We will be formally welcoming our newest member, Patton, to the family. Blessings to them both!!

    Everything is Green

Still green at Pineridge Natural Area

I don’t write out of what I know; I write out of what I wonder. I think most artists create art in order to explore, not to give the answers. Poetry and art are not about answers to me; they are about questions.

As of the first of May, Denver and the northern Front Range, have received about 7.5 inches of moisture. Everything’s so green. However, 60% of the rest of the state is still in a severe drought. They say that Colorado farmers can expect the driest year in the past 20 years. We have been hot and dry the last few days so this green will quickly go away. Loving it while we have it.

    Sometimes You Hear a Voice

    Blue Flax

    Sometimes you hear a voice
    through the door calling you.
    as fish out of water
    hear the waves,
    or a hunting falcon
    hears the drums
    Come back. Come back.

    This turning toward
what you deeply love saves you.
Read the book of your life,
    which has been given you.
A voice comes to your soul saying,
    Lift your foot. Cross over.

    Move into emptiness
of question and answer and question.

    After the Rain

    Raindrops on the grass
    Raindrops on the grass

It was nice to see blue skies and sunshine yesterday after almost 4 days of constant rain. Found this image on my way to coffee.

    Shrooms
    Mushrooms

And, when the ground is soaked we also find a few mushrooms popping up.
