    Still on the road

    Union Street Tavern

We’re on day 2 of our trip and overnighting in Hartford, Connecticut. With bright sunny skies and some extra time on our overnight we agreed to go exploring. The van took us to the older part of Windsor, CT. where we grabbed a bite to eat and acted like tourists, walking the streets. Our late lunch was at a place called the Union Street Tavern. The  tavern is converted from the double-bay Union Street firehouse. I shot this image of the empty bar just as we were leaving.

    Gazebo in Winter

    Gazebo in Winter
    Gazebo in Winter

As our winter days become colder and snow blankets everything around us, those places we spend outside in summer take on a solitary look. Instead of sitting on this gazebo, we find fireplaces to sit around or busy ourselves in our kitchens.
