    Orange and red

Each morning we awake to smoke settling upon us like fog. We do have periods when blue skies can be seen but there is that gray filter between us and the sun.

On a walk to the drug store i had one of those moments. Out of the corner of my eye I watched a leaf falling near me and then another and another. I stopped and just watched them descend. It was a waterfall of bright colored leaves. It was one of those spiritual experiences life offers us. After a while I decided to go back and get the camera. The fall colors are peaking in town. This is a tree in my complex with the sun bursting through and a closer view of the leaves. Happy Friday!

    The End is Near

    Black-Eyed Susans

Walking to the coffee shop I needed to take this image as it depicts the end of the summer and the beginning of fall. The seasons are a changing. Been thinking about planting, or I guess they call it spreading, of some wildflower seeds along the boundary between the ponds and the lawn at my condos. It seems to be a simple enough procedure adding some flowers to brighten up the area around my condo. I’ll let you know.

    Morning Frost on Leaves
    Morning Frost on Leaves

My sister and I are leaving for Phoenix today. Going to spend thanksgiving with our parents and our sister and favorite brother-in-law. Hopefully there will not be any frost down there. We should be coming back next weekend unless we somehow loose our return tickets. 🙂

    A Story of Fallen Leaves

    Birch Leaf
    Birch Leaf

“There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.” – Joe L. Wheeler

Each fall I watch the leaves change colors and fall from the trees. A gust of wind blows and leaves are separated from the branches. It’s beautiful to observe. Yet, these leaves fall onto sidewalks, pavement or rock beds. We rake them into piles and bag them, preventing them from living their full life cycle of decomposition, a vital part of nature.
