For the first time in my life I saw the truth as it is set into song by so many poets, proclaimed as the final wisdom by so many thinkers. The truth – that Love is the ultimate and highest goal to which man can aspire. Then I grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry and human thought and belief have to impart: The salvation of man is through love and in love.

This is graduation week so I decided to run away to Weld County this afternoon and look for storm clouds, trees and less traffic. I found all three! I am rather confident that salvation of man is not through violence, wealth, power, self interest, and consumerism. Through love and in love sounds like a better solution. I will assume you recognize this cottonwood tree as it is one of my favorite models. She’s always there. Same spot, too. All of her new leaves were waving excitedly at me in the breeze.

This is a stunning sky. Love it.
Greed is destroying everything good in thie world.

Thank you , Faye! And yes, greed does play a big part in that thinking. It seems we have become way too. Individualistic, living in a small bubble with our technology. We sure do need more love! I hope you have a wonderful Friday.

Looks like another spaceship cloud to me!
I remember Weld County as having a beautiful but desolate look and feel. Those clouds really tell the story, though.
Graduation time sounds like the right time to make an escape. Glad you were able to find some peace.

You are right it does look like another spaceship cloud. For anyone accustomed to forested land the prairie, flatlands, deserts do seem desolate. Even though I live equal distance from the mountains and the prairie I prefer spending my time on the open prairie. It wasn’t always that way and I’m not sure when that changed. Maybe I’ve allowed the prairie to touch me with its love.

Thanks, Monte. I’m aware of the issue that is the result of a long-overdue upgrade to my website. My usually responsive hosting company has been frustratingly slow in resolving the issue. It can be temporarily overcome by adjusting some browser settings but most people don’t want to – and shouldn’t have to – do that. Hoping to have it resolved soon!
