    Spring Snow

    Tulips

Yesterday morning, we woke to a late Spring snowfall. When snow comes this time of year it usually brings on wet heavy snow that bends branches and plants due to the added weight of the snow.

    Dreams

    Dreamy

“…most people are accustomed to setting goals and not achieving them. It’s easy to lose focus: something in real life comes up that needs your immediate attention, so all of those future plans become pipe dreams and eventually fade away, leaving us where we were in the beginning.”

This is a recurring theme in my life: unfulfilled dreams and ideas. Unfulfilled because I failed to set goals, take action and move towards those dreams and ideas. Sound familiar? I’ve always wondered if I could have been the athlete who wins the big one but was afraid to fail. Could I have been an “A” student had I only put in the effort and time? We all have dreams, some we have brought to fulfillment and some we have not. The older I get the closer I come to fulfilling more of these dreams.

    Wally B. McNutt

    Wally B. McNutt

Wanted to introduce you to Wally B. McNutt. He lives in my sisters back yard and is a Walnut tree. Sort of a quite fellow but seems quite comfortable where he’s at. My sister is putting a lot of time and work into creating a wonderful haven at her home. She has some wonderful ideas/dreams and is moving forward to make them come true. It is so enjoyable to be in the backyard to see the beauty of the flowers, leave the sounds of the world behind and listen to the birds and bees.

    Morning Sunlight

    Morning Sunlight

I want to thank everyone for visiting the new blog site and for all your comments. I’m one of those people who acts slowly in making changes. I enjoy learning and increasing my knowledge but dislike reading the manuals. 🙂 I had trouble getting my gravatar up on my comments but it seems to be there now. Sheesh!

Yesterday morning Willow, my sisters cat, and I enjoyed the sunshine coming in the living room window. The day was a day for relaxing. I’m surprised at how tired I am and do need this time off. There are so many friends I want to connect with but know I can’t meet with all of them. I meet with several friends throughout today then crawl in bed late. Plus there is a 2 hour time change. Hope everyone has a great week!

    I’ve waited long enough

    Waiting

The last couple of weeks have been busy for me and it’s not looking like things are going to slow down much in the next two weeks. My oldest daughter is getting married on the 15th so I’ll be back in Colorado from the 8th to the 16th. I will be mooching off family and friends while trying to catch up with as many as possible. I’m looking forward to the wedding and all the family stuff that goes along with it. The wedding will be in Estes Park which is just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. Time in the mountains will be good medicine for me.

After much internal talk I finally decided to purchase my own domain name a few weeks ago, then find a hosting service, Bluehost, and then purchased this theme by Photocarti. It has taken me a while to get it up to this point due to time constants and lack of knowledge about the theme and a hosting service. I’ve made a few mistakes but finally have something to present to anyone who wants to follow along on my journey of photography and life.

Blogging is fun for me. I enjoy posting images along with a few words and especially enjoy following some of my favorite photo bloggers, you guys. I’ve chosen this theme because with this one site I have 1) a blog, 2) the ability to have galleries (which are still being worked on), and 3) a home page with flash. We will see where this leads me. Please let me know what you think of this layout.

By the time you read this I most likely will be on a jet plane and heading to Colorado. Travel can be tough so I hope I do nat spend my travel time like this fellow. I will try and catch up on reading your blogs and posting a couple. See ya!

    Allium

    Allium

Took this image at Inniswood Gardens last summer. One of those images I shrugged off when first looking at it then found something I liked about it a year later. I did some slight cropping and adjusted the contrast. It’s good to revisit the archives.

I also want to share this quote of Galen Rowell’s I found on a post by David Hyde. “The most meaningful photographic styles are always reflections of the internal. We react not so much to what an outdoor photographer sees, but to how he or she sees and renders the subject for us. Personal style comes from within, from a photographer’s unconscious and conscious choices.”  Galen Rowell’s Vision: The Art of Adventure Photography

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
