There are times when a telephoto lens comes in handy, like images of a saguaro cactus. 🙂

That’s beautiful, Monte. There’s some nice symmetry going on there. The telephoto, or perhaps macro, if you can get close, is the perfect choice.

With cactus, a telephoto is my first choice until I know more about the plant. Some cactus can impale little stickers from a short distance. Ouch!

Good idea using the telephoto o a subject like this. It sort of flattens it out and gives it a nice overall sharpness.
