Afternoon Walk

I had a quiet walk at Reservoir Ridge Natural Area yesterday evening. It was a hot and muggy day so I was sweaty by the time I returned to the car. May have to take my monthly shower a week earlier than scheduled.

It was also very quiet. In the hour I was there I only heard one meadowlark, far off in the pasture, a half dozen red-winged blackbirds chattering in a tree and this mourning dove, who was mourning.

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Beautiful images that belie the sweltering heat of the day. I cannot tolerate the heat. At all. That’s why I need to be at the beach, with the seabreeze keeping me cool. 😉

Interesting you mention the beach because I’ve been thinking about how long it’s been since I was at a beach. Wonder if the universe is telling me something. Hope you’re having a good weekend 😊

The heat and humidity can make being outdoors unpleasant, but we like to say that we traded hibernation in the winter up north for hibernation in the summer in the south. We’ve kinda gotten used to the heat but it’s tough. Careful with those showers, there’s a water shortage, you know. 😉

😂 I’ll make sure the shower is a short one.

I’m not dealing with the cold or the heat as I did in my youth. But, I also enjoy experiencing the four seasons. I’m realistic enough to know there is no perfect place or scenario for any of us and each would be different anyway. Having said that, we can always add layers but we can only unlayer so far. 😁 I do my best to get out in whatever weather nature gives me each day. Vital for me to experience the outdoors.Have a super awesome day!
