fountain pens,  journal,  writing/reading

Yes, another one…

Well, I broke down and bought myself a teal colored Pilot Custom 74. It is my sisters favorite fountain pen, well one of them. We’ll call it an early Christmas gift. It is very similar to the two Pilot Custom Heritage 72 I own. I enjoy writing with them so I assumed I would this one also. I’m finding them similar in size and I believe they have the same rhodium-plated 14k gold nib which is very smooth to write with. When I have a fine camera in my hand I see the world differently through a viewfinder and take more images. The same can be said of a fine fountain pen. It helps me to see the world differently and write words describing what I see and feel. Since I carry both a camera and a fountain pen with me every day, you are for-warned that more images of this fountain pen will be forthcoming. 😊

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

It’s a beauty! I’ve noticed that when I write with a fountain pen I write more slowly and my handwriting is much more legible. 😉

That is very true with me. I slow way down when journaling or writing a letter with a fountain pen. Feel it also slows down my mind. I take my time writing because I do want it legible because rereading my journals is something I need to do regularly. Otherwise, I forget. 😊

It’s so cool that you can gain such inspiration from a beautiful tool, whether a pen or a camera. I’ve gotten so far away from writing in cursive that it would look like a third grader. I’ll probably stick with a ballpoint, at least for the time being.

Without practice we do lose touch with our cursive writing skills and I hear people say that a lot. With computers as a normal way to communicate our handwriting has gone to the side. I think you can relate to having a fine instrument in our hands and how we feel with it. Inspirational for sure!

I love a beautiful fountain pen and every time I see one in your blog I spend another hour or so shopping for them on the web. I don’t buy anymore but I think this time I’ll buy just 1 and hold it dear.
