A Few Books

This is some of the books I’ve read or going to read for this retreat starting on Saturday. There are going to be 17 books used in these five weeks where we will cover a chapter or two of the book and no written essays. There will be a lot of practicum in this retreat, actual participation, rather than just gathering more knowledge and information.

Today is my 69th birthday. The coffee shop, Mugs, gave me a free mocha and a chocolate éclair, which made my morning. I also receive the sweetest phone message from Julie and Tom as they sang happy birthday. Brought me to tears and not because their singing was bad. 🙂

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday Monte! Wishing you many more.

Some heavy lifting on the reading you’ve got going there!

I’ve already wished you Happy Birthday so don’t want to duplicate my efforts! 😉

That stack of books looks intimidating to say the least! The retreat however sounds interesting and I look forward to hearing or reading about it when you are finished. I figure that you’ll either write more posts or decide to stop altogether – hoping for the first but fearing for the second! Not really, but the chance at introspection and reflection should be very enlightening.

Enjoy your time – and Happy Birthday! 🙂

Week one is down and well into week two. The books are for future reference as we only cover a few chapters in each book. We have been given a 3″ ringed binder with most of what we need in it. a couple of the books would be lighter to carry than the 3-ring binder. 🙂

May you have many more happy and healthy birthdays my friend!
I’m also wishing for this retreat to surpass all your expectations. I’m sure there will probably be unexpected revelations and opportunities for personal growth and I know you’ll take full advantage of those moments.

Thanks, Brooks! So far the retreat has been a good experience with plenty of knowledge passed on. My problem has always been in retaining what I learn. I will have the resources to refer to with these books.

Well, Happy Birthday! The retreat looks like something that will be both enervating and calming. Hope you get everything out of it you want.

Thanks, Joe. I’m trying desperately to be the sponge and soak in as much as possible. I am enjoying the silence and the facility. The food has been just wonderful, also!
