A Mode of Silence

Western Kingbird

“The innocence and silence of the animal world has a huge subtlety to it that is anything but dumb, but rather notices everything and is present in everything. Animals carry a huge ministry of witness to the silence of time and to the depth of nature. They are like the landscape in a sense: they live too in a mode of silence.”

John O’Donohue

I believe this to be a Western Kingbird. I am not that familiar with them but they are a beautiful bird. I encountered this one along Weld County Road 15 in an open prairie area. This is a major crop and looks fairly decent.

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Several years ago I felt I did not use the telephoto lenses enough and sold them off. Later on I discovered in my meta data that I used them more than I thought. Shows you the quality of my thinking sometimes. 😁Anyway, I do want this lens to work for me. I am still concerned with the constant servo running and the battery drainage I seem to have now. The quality of the images pleases me so I do want to make it work for me. And, yes, many more subjects are possible. And, with the two lenses in my bag I have a focal range of 16-300mm. Works for my photography!
