There is a lot of truth to the saying,
“I am thankful for all that I have,
and for all that I don’t have.”
When I honestly think about this I can make a list just as long of what I am grateful I don’t have as what I do have. Detachment decreases our needs because the less we have the easier it is to appreciate what we do have. Something for me to ponder and journal about. I hope you have a wonderful Friday and upcoming weekend.

I sometimes think of it as:
” I am thankful that I don’t want for all that many things.”
It ties into your mention of detachment. Perhaps one of the most significant rewards of our full-time RV’ing was letting go of so many physical attachments. It was a revelation.
Have a great weekend, Monte!

Going through my divorce 30 years ago was a process of letting go, both material things and emotional stuff. That for me was quite a revelation. And living in a one bedroom, 1 bath, 760 square foot condo, has allowed me to simplify and downsize my lifestyle. I wouldn’t have it any other way now. I’ve also done that with my camera gear.

Good morning, all! I had a dear friend say many, many years ago that he had found his daily prayer: “God, help me to want what I have.” Peace and contentment for me is really that simple when I can just be there. It is a beautiful early morning in WY sitting beneath Grandfather Cottonwood blessed by the awakening earth. Blessings.

And a happy Sunday morning to you, Geri! I believe it is that simple. Too many of us complicate things. Have a wonderful day with Grandfather Cottonwood.
