Changing Colors

Cache La Poudre River

Made it up the Poudre Canyon yesterday and loved what I saw. The high country trees are turning colors and all around me leaves are fluttering to the ground. While enjoying it up there I realized I have not been camping in over 5 years. I think it’s about time. I checked on a couple of campgrounds and  noticed they will closing on September 30th so I’m heading up there today for a couple nights of camping. The weather is suppose to be nice. See ya in a few.

Aspen Grove

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

I did go but had to come back. I was also surprised at how many bear warnings there were. Almost every campground above 9,000 feet had warning signs. It is also bowhunting season so I did see a few hunters. I will post a few images over the next couple of days.

Colorado is know for its aspen colors but we also have other trees that show beautiful colors in the Fall. In fact most of the trees in the top image are not aspens. Along the Poudre River you will find cottonwoods, varieties of willows, boxelder, alders, and elm trees. And, yes you must put a trip out to see the aspen colors on your bucket list.
