Christmas Gifts

Received my two books that will be Christmas Gifts for my children and grandchildren. I spent the past two days proofing them and then ordered copies yesterday morning. They turned out okay and are simple 7×7 inch softcover photo books. One photo on the left page and a small paragraph or poem on the left page. One book is 60 pages and the other is 64 pages. I do enjoy making these small books, like the final product as I don’t print and frame that many images. This is a good way to archive some of my images and share them. I used Blurb in Lightroom because it’s easy to do photo books. However, any text work is awkward.

Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter, Christine!!!!

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Those will be cherished gifts for sure, Monte. I’ve done a few Blurb books over the years but have mostly given them away. I need to buy copies for myself! I’ve started one with photos from our 50 states travel, but it has been a little intimidating.

I’ve found that their online software is a little easier to use than working in Lightroom, but that’s just my preference.

I make these blurb books a few times a year and I like the Lightroom module. It took lots of practice but I’ve gotten to where I’m pretty good at it. I’ve always enjoyed seeing my work in print and a book is perfect for that. I’ve given them away as gifts and donated one to the local library. Blurb always seems to have a 15% discount code available.
Happy to hear you’ve given them something they’ll cherish for years to come.

I have gotten much better with it in Lightroom, which I prefer. As I mentioned it lacks in being able to add any extended text. I gave my kids books for Christmas a few years ago and it was a success. This will be the first for my grandkids. They pricey, although no different than other on demand printers. I have been very happy with there quality. I even tried one of their magazine prints and thought it did a decent job for the price. But, there is only one format and it is bigger.

I think they will be happy with them. Today I ordered four copies of my Fallen Leaves hard copy book for them, thinking I may give them those instead.

I have a couple of your SoFoBoMo books from 2008 and 2009. If you haven’t done any since then I think it’s time!! They are fun to make and to be creative, great little projects.
