Doors of Opportunity

Door 135

After taking to the air as a flight attendant I’ve find myself sleeping half the month in a different city. Because of this life style most of my photo opportunities are found while walking the streets in these cities. The doors of opportunity found walking a trail in nature are different than the doors of opportunity walking the streets of a city. When we take the time to look every scene within the city or within nature provides photo opportunities. One subject within the city streets that catches my attention is doors. They’re everywhere, sort of like trees or leaves in nature. When we associate that to life we can see many doors of opportunity. I wonder how often I missed a door of opportunity because I was not truly looking. I feel I’m learning to see more of these doors of opportunity.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Monte, I believe your “vision” is pretty good. Besides, opportunities as options come in many flavors…good, bad all in between. Have a good weekend!

When I see a door such as this one, it reminds me of a sign I once saw on the wall of a store, “Through this door walks the most important people in the world, our customers”.

Since I don’t spend much time in cities, I don’t see many doors. (I’m certainly not alluding to lack of opportunities!) But, if I were walking city streets, I don’t think I would see nearly as well as you.

This is a lovely photo. I love the softness of the colors for this subject.

Thanks, Anita. Just off the top of my head I can image doors all around you such as barn doors, motor home doors (now there’s a door of opportunity), doggy door, and of course the bathroom door. Yep, doors are everywhere. And being in cities is something I would not want to do on a daily basis. I’m more of a wide-open-space sort of person. Let me see the horizon, the mountains, rather than pavement and high rises. Hope you guys have a great week!!

Once we start looking they show up all over the place. It’s the same in nature, there are individuals who will never notice the leaves at their feet because their focus is elsewhere. Man, am I guilty of that at times.

Doors are an invitation, to come or to go–indeed, a beckoning opportunity. I wonder, if we counted, how many doors we walk thru in a life time–literally and figuratively? I like this, nice photo and thoughts as always.

It must be rather fun and challenging photographically visiting different places like this with your camera. Do you enjoy it? What a wonderful door…

Yes, we always can find images when traveling with a camera in hand, any camera. In answer to your question, yes I enjoy the work I do and the travel that goes along with it. I consider myself a bit a nomad, an old one. Hope you are enjoying you week!
