Light of a New Day

dark blue pre-dawn sky
fades to the light of a new day
a meadowlark sings

It was 32 degrees and clear skies when I left the condo this morning. I sometimes wish I could completely eliminate the hand of man in my landscape images but it’s almost impossible. However, I believe these towers added something to this image. A meadowlarks song then brightened my spirit, and added even more to this cold morning. Yes, the gift of a new day!

Had to laugh at myself, though, because I placed my coffee mug on roof of the car when I put my tripod away and then drove off. I went about a quarter of a mile before I remembered it. Still sitting there. Have a wonderful Friday! 😂

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

It’s a good thing you don’t drive too fast! 😳 Great story!

We have some power lines and towers on the horizon from our place, so I just make the best of them when they’re in the frame.

Better the coffee mug than your camera I suppose, heh. Quite surprised it stayed up there.

I think the hand of man works to your advantage in this photo personally. I often discover power lines I never saw in person, only to see them running through some trees that end up triggering some editing work. I generally try to avoid HOM – but I say if it’s there, and you can embrace it – go for it.

I never thought of that one, Mark. The mug was leaning up against the roof rack or it may have tumbled over. It seems you do a good job in your images with a focus on nature without the HOM. I have also found the HOM in images once I loaded it on my computer when I never saw it at time of capture. I have also taken images because even with the HOM there I wanted to have the image.
