Long Morning Shadows

Poetry is one of the ancient arts, and it began as did all the fine arts, within the original wilderness of the earth.

Mary Oliver, A Poetry Handbook

I no longer celebrate the in coming New Year by partying and then suffering with a hangover in the morning. I am going way overboard this year and celebrating at home with some shrimp cocktail. Have a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve. If you do dance on the tables, please post a video. We can all use the laugh. 😁

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Lovely photo, Monte. Love those shadows!

No dancing on the tables for us, and no hangovers! Our neighborhood has had a dinner at the clubhouse the last few years – one of our residents’ son is a chef and is the guy we get our fish from – but not this year. So we bought some scallops from the chef/fish guy and will have a nice, quiet dinner at our favorite restaurant – home!

Hope you get some good New Years’ photos, Monte. We’ll be socked in here tomorrow but perhaps I’ll get out on Saturday morning. Happy New Year!

I just indulged in the shrimp cocktail. Hit the spot. I have no plans for tomorrow. Maybe I’ll get some photography in. Seems to a daily thing again. Happy New Year! Enjoy the scallops! One of my favs.

No partying here either, gave that up long ago. There are too many crazy people on the roads and as you said, hangovers are just not worth it. You certainly are blessed with wilderness where you live. Happy and Healthy New Year!

I did enjoy the shrimp cocktail and awoke with no hangover. 😁 Yes, I think I live in a wonderful place but the reality of that is that there is beauty everywhere in this world. It’s about how I see it and experience it. And may you have Happy and Healthy New Year, my friend!
