More Than Before

Rusty Bolt

So what story can this rusty bolt tell us? It is part of a hinge for the gate to a pasture but why is it on top of the post? Who put it there? It seems out of place. Once the mind games have settled down I realize it’s real purpose is there for me to photograph it. I wanted to present it as I saw it, with my vision. It’s another one of those things in life we sometimes overlook. When we look closely we just see more than before. 🙂

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Photos like these can tell a great number of stories. There’s a lot of history here. It makes you wonder what that history was. Exactly what was this bolt’s life heretofore.

The picture is an opportunity. One artist saw the beauty and suspense and recorded it as a picture which is a form of art.

A writer can now take the image and turn it into a story.

In fact many different stories can be born from what one artist saw that day and record for others to also enjoy.

It is up to us to talk for the rusty bolt and tell of its greatest or sorrow it has seen. Yes, many stories are just waiting us to click the typewriter keys.

Close your eyes and you can see the characters asking you to record the wonders of its’ live.

    Or its future.

Very well said. I ventured off in that direction a few weeks ago with a series of 4 posts about a pen and the people it encountered in life. It was fun to do and may want to try something like that again. Thanks for stopping by an leaving a comment.
