71 Years, Wow!

Morning coffee on my porch

For the past two days we have had afternoon thunderstorms. Those storms ahve brought rain and hail but because of that things are looking green. But, yesterday’s lightning strikes were way to close for my comfort. I was sitting on my porch when there was a sudden flash then instantly a crack of thunder that could be felt. It was to close for my comfort. After I regained my breath I noticed the geese were scrambling every which direction. The little goslings were running around frantically. You could see the fear in their eyes, knowing somewhere in that small head they were asking the question, “What the hell just happened?” Total chaos. I’m still laughing. 😂 Anyway, more showers again today and hoping you have a great week. Enjoy your coffee!

And, today my parents celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary. Wow!

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

Most people consider 50 years to be a milestone, but 71 years is an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations and best wishes to Mom & Dad!

For some reason the thunderstorms have been passing us by. Must be the nuclear power plant up the road. 😉 I do love a good thunderstorm until they get too close. We had one a couple years ago that took out a bunch of televisions and electronics, and I lost a printer and a Sonos speaker. Fortunately those are rare. I do love how the rain makes everything green up, though.

Coffee on the porch is a good thing. It was a little cool for us this morning at 58, but was nice for walking.

Thanks, Tom. The clouds are building up over the mountains so expecting more of the rain, thunder and lightning. And, that 58 is not bad in my opinion! Need to get a walk in before it rains.

Congratulations to you parents. A significant achievement to be sure. And thanks for the picture of the geese which you painted in my head so clearly. Made me smile 🙂

Wow, you don’t hear about too many who are celebrating 71 years. A big congratulations to them! They should publish a list of secrets to their success.

Talked with dad yesterday and still pretty sharp. May have to ask them the secret. Interesting to think that there are so many people who don’t live for 70 years let alone married for that many years.

Yes, blessed is a good word. They really are in good health physically and have the mental functions working. Some of the hearing is going for both of them so they do misunderstand each other once in awhile, or feel ignored. It’s kinda cute to watch.

I too am smiling, thinking of those poor goslings. Big Congratulations to your parents, that is awesome!

As you well know life can be quite shocking and even more so when you’re a young one. Still it was funny to watch them looking in all directions for whatever just happened.
