Rereading

Morning sunrise at a local coffee shop

“A child has no trouble believing the unbelievable, nor does the genius or the madman. It’s only you and I, with our big brains and our tiny hearts, who doubt and overthink and hesitate.” Steven PressfieldDo the Work

I’ve been rereading a couple of Steven Pressfield’s books on creating art and what stops us from being creative. Thus the quote above.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

It’s interesting how the significance of things changes over time based on our experiences. We are all guilty of overthinking things to some degree.

“War of Art” is one of my favorite and inspirational books by Pressfield. I had read his historical fiction on Thermopylae (Gates of Fire, I think) but it’s his non-fiction that I enjoy best.

He strikes home for me. I think this will be a book a I read multiple times. I’ve not read any of his fiction and actually not that interested in them.
