“If you pass by the color of purple in a field and don’t notice it, God gets real pissed off.” Alice Walker

Yesterday was a cold morning that warmed up nicely into the low 60s. So, a walk in Od Town was in order. I was not the only one there. Here are some images from the day.

    Imaginations

    Rainbow of Colors

It is cold in Myrtle Beach, 37 degrees to be exact. We have a long overnight so after breakfast I decided to take a walk. I put on a winter coat and headed outdoors. Across the street from the hotel is an abandoned shopping mall that has always intrigued me as a place for photo opportunities. I walked over to see what I could find and was granted a lovely surprised. The surprise included lots of colors, shapes and some wonderful people. Located on the opposite side of the mall is a costume store, a BIG costume store. It’s name is Imaginations Creative Costumes. Did I mention it was BIG? They tempt you as you walk by with beautiful colors and costumes in their display windows. The temptation was too great so I just had to step inside to experience it. Let me tell you it’s BIG.

New York City offers some wonderful restaurants. While visiting a couple of days ago Kirsten and I discovered this great little Szechwan and Chinese cuisine restaurant called Ginger’s. We ordered two plates, a vegetarian dish of Shiitake Mushroom with Shanghai Bok Choy and the other was Chicken Pad Thai. Both were wonderful but the brown sauce on the mushrooms and Bok Choy was amazing. We found both of us licking the sauce without any embarrassment. I will need to return there for more.

New York City is also a great place for photography as it provides an amazing array of lights and colors vying for your attention. Somewhere near Times Square I found this stack of hats creating a rainbow of colors and patterns. Anyone for a new hat?
