That’s Just What We Do

Here is an attempt to photograph a scene where I wanted you to experience what I was experiencing. The late afternoon sunlight had the grass shimmering in gold, while the wind had the grass dancing to the music of silence. The first meadowlarks of the season were singing to me. There was that feeling of solitude, distant from the cities clamber. I took several images of the backlit grass along the fence with the awareness you probably wouldn’t experience what I was experiencing through this image. It just can’t. For you would have to be there to experience it. But, as a photographer, I will always try. That’s just what we do.

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

This is so very true. As an example, no photo of the Grand Canyon has ever come close to conveying what it feels like to stand at the rim and absorb the beauty of nature.

I agree. However, I have seen photos that captured me in a way very different than my experiences. Images of the Grand Canyon with dramatic clouds and lightning drop my jaw and most likely due to the fact I’ve never been there to witness such a scene. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

I’d say you did a pretty darn good job of bringing us there. The added words help as nobody would know there were meadowlarks singing – which is an added bonus for the imagination.
