That’s Kinda Kool!

One among the stars

Recognize that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules, are traceable to the crucibles that were once the centers of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. So that we are all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically and to the rest of the universe atomically. That’s kinda cool! That makes me smile and I actually feel quite large at the end of that. It’s not that we are better than the universe, we are part of the universe. We are in the universe and the universe is in us.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

This image was taken today about midmorning. The sun and wind were creating stars on the waters surface, so the photographer in me reached for my camera. Then, without an invitation, the geese decided to get into the frame, adding an unexpected impact to the scene. I find both the image and the quote reminding me that we are a part in the universe – we are one among the stars. I also find that’s kinda kool!

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

DAZZELING! I am so glad that the geese literally got into the picture…makes it great. And the wonderful quote so perfectly folds in with the photo, reminding me that as I am somewhat collapsed into my lazygirl after a busy but very good day, I am in fact, so much more than I often feel myself, as are you.

I find it interesting that by observing life, taking a simple step forward, leads to something being given to us. Both the image and quote came to me today. That in itself lets me know how connected we truly are. Thank you for your comments!!! Have a wonderful evening! And, thank the geese!

I so appreciated your reply, Monte. “…by observing life…” That is such a powerful statement to me. I am very much practicing just being aware as I move, or sit, through this day. I am practicing learning vs. judging…observing, just being vs. doing, even in the doing. These moments with you and these wonderful gifts in pictures and words on this blog are a vital part of my practice in awareness, thank you and bless you, my friend. Greetings from both of us.

I saw 3 geese overhead while sitting beneath Grandfather Cottonwood the other day. Spring is just around the corner, even as we are receiving a beautiful light snow this morning.

I noticed buds on some trees yesterday. The geese around the pond are squabbling over nesting territory. Yes, signs of spring. We have overcast skies, wind and a mix of rain/snow early this morning. And, the wind is cold. I am glad you enjoy my blog. I post here because it is something I enjoy and want to do for myself. It is self care and a creative outlet for me. I also post because some people enjoy what I post. Thank you, my friend.

Nice pairing of the image and quote. I am personally mesmerized by the formation of stars, the distribution of matter, so much we don’t fully understand in those connections. I was reading an article on consciousness the other day and how some researchers are exploring the abilities of little structures in our neurons to possibly be able to pick up quantum strings that ultimately connect us to everything. Simply fascinating.

You are the scientist! Just one the things I like about you. I would go along with those researchers and find it fascinating. As I mentioned before on my blog, the beginners mind keeps me looking, seeking, asking questions, always a student and not being a know-it-all. Contempt prior to investigation will keep us small.
