This morning

The new normal at the coffee shops includes the mask

Feels like fall this morning. Air is crisp. Sunlight seems vibrant. Dew sparkles on the grass. People wearing sweaters and jackets. Students walking to class with backpacks, water bottles, earbuds and wearing the latest fashions in masks. Happy September 1st.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

We have had a rather warm Winter over here, the warmest in my memory. Though as it turns out no records broken, not even close, but it certainly felt more like an extended Fall. We’re heading into Spring and there are signs that we are going to break our drought that we’ve had for the last few years. That usually means floods unfortunately. The down sides to living in a sub-tropical climate.
    Enjoy the Fall, Monte.

I see the breaking of the drought to be a good thing, so celebrate. And, yes it may be short lived if there is flooding associated with it. Seems, the world never just gives us the perfection we create in our minds. Hope you enjoy your summer. Any big plans?

“The perfection we create in our minds”, it certainly never stands up to the perfection of life though, wouldn’t you say? 🙂
I have no plans for the summer. I was just saying on Earl’s site that I have never been much of a planner, for better or for worse. As I said in my comment to Earl, I consider planning to be what we do so gods can laugh 😉

Lucky you! I am anxious for some cooler temperatures. Summer is a season that must be endured in order to receive Autumn. The fresh vegetables and fruits are a nice touch though. lol

Again cool this morning, wore a jacket on my bicycle ride. But, was sweating in a t-shirt on my walk this evening. The leaves are changing here. Canada Geese are flying overhead. Meadowlarks are moving on to warmer climates. Our late summer has been giving us smoke to deal with from the forest fires. The changes of seasons here are a gift. Yes, I consider myself lucky.

We’re currently in Billings, MT where the temperature forecast for tomorrow (Saturday) is a high of 103! Amazingly it hasn’t felt that warm since we’re used to the high humidity of the southeast, but it is still darned hot! Hoping to see some of those cooler temperatures out at the Pacific coast and as we head back your way. Fingers crossed!

We brought layers that should see us through the most likely cold snaps, but it looks like we may see some chilly temps even farther west. Looking forward to being out of the mountains before the really cold stuff blows in. Yikes!
