After the Storm

Had a good night’s sleep but woke up too late to catch the sunrise so you’ll have to settle for this sunset at Reservoir Ridge Natural Area. We had a dusting of snow on Sunday morning then cleared up by noon. Monday evening a light, gentle, silent snow began and did not stop until this morning. The sun came out mid morning but left us with an inch of snow. The mountains got much more so skiers are probably happy dancing. It was cold this morning at 9 degrees but warmed up to 23 when I took this image at 4:30 pm. I had a nice quiet time as I sat in my car and journaled, the sun bearing down on me and keeping me warm. After writing I took a short walk before the sun set which is when this image was taken. When the sun sets this time of the year it gets cold quickly.

UCHealth contacted me and I’m scheduled to have my first COVID-19 vaccine this coming Saturday morning and the second one on February 20th. They sent me an email letting me know I could sign up for the vaccine. So I went on line and chose the first opening. I was quite surprised to be notified, figuring I would have to get on some long waiting list.

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

I think we can forgive you for sleeping past sunrise, Monte. 🙂 A good night’s sleep is a precious thing sometimes.

We’ve only seen a few snowflakes this winter with no accumulation, although in the higher elevations to the west of us, they’ve had several snowfalls, and the ski resorts have been making snow for months.

Great news about the vaccine. 👍 Bonnie and I had our first dose this past Sunday and are scheduled for the second dose on Valentine’s Day.

Thanks, I needed the forgiveness. I just don’t sleep as well as I have in the past. Some due to my bad back and some because I ate too much sugar before bed. 😁

I’m ready for the vaccine. If nothing else we all are testing it out for those in the future. Ireceived an email today to get checked in and fill out questionnaire. So, looks like you’re about a week ahead of me. Kool!

I’ve had a tough time getting motivated in the mornings myself. It seems like it’s been a lot more cloudy lately, and I only want to get up if I have a pretty good shot at conducive skies. Plus it’s been pretty chilly!

Kathy & I are anxious to get our turn at the vaccines but since we are healthy and under 65 it’s going to be a while. In the mean time we’re signing up everywhere we can to get notified. I’ve been tempted to take a job bagging groceries so I can get prioritized, but that seems like work. 😉
