It was in the mid 30’s when I took this image of the rider at Reservoir Ridge Natural Area this afternoon. As you can tell a little snow and cold does not stop the avid bicyclist in Colorado. They gear up just as you would for skiing or snowmobiling. This guy was on one of those fat tire bikes, with those massive tires for snow. Shortly after taking this image the sun poked its head out, gave me shadows in the snow and made me smile.

Beautiful scenery! Riding those bikes in the snow, even with the fat tires, would be a major cardio workout. They have my admiration but I have no compulsion to try it myself. 🙂

I must give him credit because he’s riding on an inch snowfall that’s been packed down so the pedaling is much easier. I still have no desire to join in.

When I lived in Ohio, a friend and I would go out on our mountain bikes at night when it snowed. It’s hard work but the quiet was very peaceful. I still have the bike but the legs are gone. 😉
