I’d agree with Bertrand Russell that preoccupation with possessions can play a large part in our inability to “let go” and live a truly free life. But I think often we equate possessions with safety and stability and it’s our fear of not having that, a fear of the unknown, which prevents us from sometimes finding our best lives. And yes, I’m also speaking of myself.
I can only imagine birds living truly in the moment and we draw a little closer to method of living when we stop and listen to their song.

I also agree that we have been given the idea that our possessions provide us with safety and stability. Many of us do not know we are imprisoned with some of our possessions. I believe that of myself.
