Study-time in the Shade

Studying in the Shade
Study-time in the Shade

If you wander anywhere on campus at Colorado State University you  will find it pretty quiet. That will change on the 21st when classes begin. There are two small coffee shops on campus at the Lory Student Center and another at Morgan Library. They have good prices, catering to the penniless students and me. 🙂 I sat on the balcony and looked out over the square and noticed this student in study time. I assume they are taking summer courses. I converted this in Silver Efex Pro using one of the presets.

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

I feel like we’ve seen these tables before, but that’s OK. There’s something about the tones in the umbrellas that I really like, and of course I’m fond of the shadows. Around here we enjoy somewhat lighter commute traffic while school is out. That is going to change quickly in just a few more weeks.

I have recently been visiting a few local universities with my daughter (currently in her last year at school and needing to decide on a course for next year), and I have to say that the cafes and eating places on campus don’t seem to care much about penniless students, charging as much as anywhere else. I sure hope my daughter also finds a job next year 😉

Cool photo Monte. I always like your compositions.

I have found the cafes and coffee shops on campus lower in price than off campus. A 12 oz. mocha on campus is $3.00 and the same mocha at Mugs across the street is $3.75. Yes, it would be nice if she could find work during school, then make enough to support you. 🙂
