The Regulars

A Couple of Regulars

Every coffee shop will have its regulars. They make up an important part of them. Along with the quality of the coffee, the personalities of the baristas, and the decor, they help develop the ambiance of the coffee shop. The baristas and customers know them by name and they know the baristas and customers. If they do not show up in their regular chairs, people will worry. Here are a couple of regulars at a local coffee shop with their thinking caps on. Not sure if they are all talked out or they decided they’ve finally solved all the world problems.

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

This is classic, and I love the sepia-ish treatment.

We’ve got an old-time country gas station near our house, and I’d love be able to work up the nerve to photograph some of the regulars. It would make a great portrait series.

I hope you find a way to get a few shots of those regulars as it sounds like there are some great images there. And, I do relate to your apprehension. Have fun with it!

Monte, I’m always a little envious of people like this who have regular friends and meeting places — those friendships where you don’t need to talk unless there’s really something to say. I too like the treatment on this image.

Thanks,Earl! I also like it when I see an older couple on the airplane who do not have to have a continuous conversation but are content to just be near. It is even more powerful to watch them just hold hands. 🙂 I know it’s a bit different with couples than with a male friends.
