Waiting

Waiting

Adopt the pace of Nature; her secret is patience. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is not the image I had envisioned when I left the apartment. I had to change plans when I got there. The last time I shot this barn at sunrise I did not have an oil drilling rig off to my left. Damn! How quickly man changes things. Saddens me. 🙁 Anyway,  I went ahead and waited for the sun to rise. Waiting can be tough in our “microwave” society, we want things now. If I do not take in all the beauty around me at these times then what I thought was patience was only an endurance of time to get an image. On this cold December morning with a slight wind blowing in from the north, in this case my backside, it was a bit of both, a test of patience and endurance. I’m gaining more patience as I add each birthday. Waiting.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

The heck with your initial thoughts when leaving the apartment, this is a creative and beautiful shot. Nice control of a difficult exposure. Careful, don’t loose any needed parts to the cold. 🙂

God knows I need all the parts. These cold mornings are a test of my physical abilities anymore. I’ve come back from mornings like this and had my fingers just ache and no functionality in them. It’s at these times I wander to a warm beach and gentle pounding waves.

I agree with Earl, completely. This is very creative and a beautiful shot. I like the little bit of sunlight coming through/reflecting off of your glasses, too.

Of the half dozen images I took this is the only one with the reflection in my glasses. I like it also as it seems to add a different touch. I had an idea of doing an image like this but not drawn it out or formed anything. Thanks, for all the comments you have made on my stuff over the past year.
