What is my work?

Looking close at nature and its ability to create

“My work is Loving the World.” Mary Oliver

I believe nature can create visual art that brings pleasure to my soul. I’ll even say it creates art that touches all of  the senses; smell, touch, visual, audible and taste. Could it be that nature is the ultimate artist? As Mary Oliver ask do I participate as an artist with nature in loving it, respecting it, protecting it?

Retired. Having fun shooting Fujifilm cameras. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku. Have a love for fountain pens.

I am doing good. I had some heart surgery back in December and healing from all that. Life is good. I actually was wondering what happened to you as I got lost in your moving. I dropped my membership on pbase after being a member for almost 10 years. Tom Dills let me know you were somewhere in the Charlotte area. So good to have you commnet and hoping all is good for you!

I’m so sorry I didn’t realize you’d had heart surgery. I hope you are recovering; your images are still beautiful, so your artist’s eye remains intact. I moved to the Charlotte area, sharing an apartment with my niece. I’m loving the non-homeowner life. 🙂 I haven’t had time yet to locate local parks, rivers, streams, etc and I miss photographing the flora. Take care, Monte. I’ll be checking in here regularly.

Classic Monte photo! Yes, I believe “nature” is the ultimate artist and it is our role as photographers to seek and find those gifts. You’ve done a great job of finding this one.

Faye: don’t be a stranger. I’ve not done a great job of being a tourist in my own town but do know of a few places. Kathy and I would love to meet for coffee or vino and do some exploring. Fortunately or unfortunately, we know the restaurants better than we know the parks! 🙂
